Steve Bloomfield
Heartbeat of the club
Every club has someone that if you cut them in half would be the colour of the club shirt. Liverpool has Stevie G - We've got Stevie B...
Meet Steve...

An unlikely turn of events when moving school means that Steve is a devout Leicester City supporter. His new school friends were convinced he was the son of Leicester legend (and namesake) Jimmy Bloomfield and his love affair with the Foxes began.
By his own admission, Steve is the archetypal 'Left Back' (in the changing room). Equally poor with both feet with an eye for the occasional own goal, his football career is best summed up as 'A series of unfortunate events'.
This didn't stop him trying to help his son though and as an adult, Steve joined the coaching staff here at Blyth to assist the current club chairman Phil. Through various FA training courses and long nights watching Gary Lineker banging them in at Filbert Street, Steve learnt how to do things properly and is now the clubs encyclopedia on the beautiful game.
The current under 9's team is Steve's fourth cycle through the age groups and although his children have grown up and moved out, he continues to ensure that the next generation of local kids can get involved and develop their skills.
When he isn't coaching, you will find him racing down the wings and causing havoc in the penalty area - All whilst sitting on the club lawnmower! Otherwise he may be at home counting the contents of the petty cash tin. You see, Mr B is not only a coach but also Head Groundsman, Club treasurer and a qualified Referee.
The footballing gods may not have bestowed him with great skill but Steve is proof that with heart and determination, you can go far in football (even if it is on top of a lawnmower!!)
